Registrations of doctoral candidates will be considered preferentially. Structural equation modeling is a powerful tool to formulate and test hypothesized relationships between variables. In comparison to classic regression models, structural equation models allow the construction and analysis of much more complex interrelations, including those between latent variables. Additionally, the visual representation of the respective structures, facilitates comprehension. Therefore, structural equation models are widely used to investigate intricate phenomena in psychology, the social sciences, economics and increasingly also in the natural sciences. This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to structural equation models and their implementation. In a hands-on modelling exercise participants experience the theoretical concepts in action and learn how to apply them in their own research. To optimally benefit from the workshop participants should be familiar with the basics of multiple linear regression and ideally also with factor analysis.
