This workshop is designed to enhance the students´ awareness of their personal presentation skills and perferences. We will not solely talk abaout the design and concept of talks and posters, but rather focus on the individual strengths and weaknesses during presentations. We will do serveral hands-on exercises in rotating groups. In discussions and personal training dialogues, we will try to lay the fingers onto the individual challenges during a presentation. We will then cocentrate on breaking up your presentation routine to reach your personal presentation comfort zone. Once you reached this state of mind, we will work on the technical details that still can be improved to reach an even higher level of presntation skills. This might pave the way to really "slam science", i. e. telling an exciting story that promotes your research to any audience. You will benifit from training like this in many situations: The next lab meeting, a poster presentation, writing a research proposal or even your next job interview. Prerequisites: A strong interest in improving presentation skills and the enthusiasm to seriously work on your own weaknesses (and thus leaving your own comfort zone).
