Anmeldung: Applying Outside Academia [ENG]

This course is for doctoral researchers and postdocs who have little application knowledge and are looking for a new employment in the next 12 months.

The course will focus on finding and getting jobs outside of academia, since not all scientific employees can or want to stay in this field. Participants will gain an understanding of how to approach the job market beyond university, from identifying suitable roles and presenting their qualifications effectively to navigating selection processes with confidence. 

The aim is to equip participants with practical tools and insights that will help them plan and pursue their next career steps purposefully. Throughout the sessions, personal strengths and goals will be taken into account, with room for individual questions and discussion to help define the most promising approaches.

• Effective job search methods, both active and passive
• Interpreting job advertisements and identifying suitable entry-level roles
• Creating convincing and well-designed application document
• Preparing for interviews, including typical questions and presentation strategies
• Navigating salary research and negotiation processes
