Anmeldung: Biostatistics – Basic concepts and project-oriented applications

In this course, general principles of descriptive statistics including techniques for illustrations are recapitulated. Basic concepts of inferential statistics, especially of statistical testing, are refreshed. With a focus on the dissertation projects and specific questions of the participants, we will cover the selection of analysis techniques and tests in detail. To prepare this, a survey will be sent out to the participants before the course. Examples will be given that cover both manual calculations and analyses using the software jamovi. Possible pitfalls in study designs and sample size estimation techniques will be discussed.
